Bollywood is slowly increasing its fan base in China. After the release of "Dhoom 3", "Happy New Year" and "PK", Ranveer Singh's "Bajirao Mastani" is ready to capture the Chinese box office.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's directorial film "Bajirao Mastani" is all set for a massive release in China. According to reports, the film will release in approximately 6,000 screens in China, which is the widest release.

Till now, Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year" had the record of widest release in China with more than 5,000 screens, but the record has now been shattered by "Bajirao Mastani".

"The Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer, due to its historical theme, is being looked as a kind of cinema that Chinese would love to watch on the big screen. The similarity in cultural aspects and core ethos further helps in the relatability quotient. Distributors there are very excited and Eros, which has a huge distribution alliance with them, is putting in all the effort," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The film has managed to get a massive screen count, but it is likely to release at the Chinese box office next year.

"There would be some intense promotion and marketing required for Bajirao Mastani before it hits the screens there. The principle cast as well as the director would have to visit China and spend a few days in promotion before the film is released there," the source added.

"Bajirao Mastani" is Ranveer's first film to release in China, while Deepika Padukone's "Happy New Year" was released this year. After "Happy New Year", Aamir Khan's "PK" was released in China and it went on to become the first Bollywood film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office.

Now it remains to be seen whether "Bajirao Mastani" will shatter "PK" Chinese box office record next year or not.

Meanwhile, the film is all set to release in India and in international markets on 18 December along with "Dilwale". Directed by Bhansali, this period drama features Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.
