Finally, the wait for much-awaited the power cruiser from the popular two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto is coming to an end. The Dominar 400, the flagship motorcycle of Bajaj will be launched in the country on December 15. And what seems to be good news ahead of the Dominar 400 launch in the country is that the motorcycle is open for bookings in the country.

While Bajaj is yet to announce the opening of the bookings of the Dominar 400 officially in India, some of the dealers the company have started accepting the order. A report in Zigwheels says that the bookings for the upcoming power cruiser Dominar 400 are accepted for a down-payment of Rs 1,000 and above. Bajaj Dominar 400 has already hit the assembly line at the company's Chakan plant and the bike is expected to start arriving at the dealerships shortly.

Bajaj Dominar 400, the power cruiser, which made its first appearance at the Auto Expo 2014 as Pulsar CS400 is coming to the market after two-year long wait. The company has put the Dominar 400 through rigorous testing in different terrain in the country and the motor enthusiasts had the chance to see how the bike evolved from its concept to the final production-spec version through countless spy shots and videos.

Although Bajaj Dominar 400 stays very much close to its concept, which we saw at the auto show two-years back, the bike does adapt to some changes. The Dominar 400 is expected to get conventional telescopic front suspension instead of upside down front forks of the Pulsar CS400 concept, twin instrument console — one on the handlebar as seen in other bikes and the other on the fuel tank and LED headlamp unit.

At the heart, the Dominar 400 will get a 373cc fuel injected, liquid-cooled, 4-valve triple-spark, fuel-injected mill mated to six-speed transmission. The same, which does duty in the KTM 390 Duke, is expected to churn out a power of 40bhp and 30Nm of peak torque. From the word around the web, the Dominar 400 will feature ABS. However, it remains to be seen whether this will be offered as standard or optional.
