Neeraj Pandey's "Baby" remained unaffected with "Shamitabh" release. The action thriller continued its business, even running in its third week at the box office.

"Baby" starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role has so far minted ₹89 crore from its theatrical run. On the third weekend, the film minted ₹4.74 crore, taking its overall net earnings to ₹89.14 crore.

"#Baby [Week 3] Fri 1.31 cr, Sat 1.56 cr, Sun 1.87 cr. Grand total: ₹ 89.14 cr. India biz," trade analysts and film critic tweeted the box office income of the film.

The action thriller requires just ₹10 crore to touch the ₹100 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film might earn ₹100 crore by the end of fourth week, but it would not be able to beat the lifetime total collection of Akshay's last film "Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty".

"Holiday" movie lifetime box office income is pegged at ₹116 crore. For "Baby" it would be difficult to rake in ₹26 crore in the coming days. The screen count from the across the country has already declined and by next week, with the release of "Roy", it will go down further.

Meanwhile, Akshay in an interview told a leading daily that the team of "Baby" is excited with the second and third box office performance of the film.

"We always knew Baby was always going to have a slow and sturdy opening, and rise on its own sweet time!! With no commercial element to it whatsoever, no songs, and because of its political agenda, it was always meant to be a word-of- mouth film. We all knew it would be a slow winner which is why we're so happy that even in its second week it was appreciated more than I could have wished for," Akshay told Deccan Chronicle.
