Pakistan played some brilliant cricket in the third ODI against West Indies to emerge victorious by a massive 136 runs. This was made possible with huge ton from Babar Azam and skipper Azhar Ali, with the former scoring his third straight ton in the process as well. After clinching the third ODI Pakistan have completed a series whitewash, winning 3-0.

There is no denying Azam played a huge role in helping Pakistan win the series with his quality batting throughout the series. He continued his stunning form, with a 106-ball 117, which included eight fours and a six in the third ODI.

Azam was assisted by Ali, who had not looked great in the earlier matches, but the captain will also be pleased with his output. He scored 101 runs from 109 balls, which played an important role in Pakistan compiling 308 runs from their allotted 50 overs.

They could have scored much more had their middle order batsmen been effective in the last 10 overs, which did not happen.

With West Indies chasing 309 runs to win, they were required to get off to a quality start, and they started on a decent note until the Caribbean nation lost the wicket of Evin Lewis. Throughout the series, the problem with West Indies have been their batsmen failing to convert starts into meaningful scores, and nothing changed in the third ODI.

Experienced players like Marlon Samuels, Darren Bravo and Denesh Ramdin once again failed to build onto their starts. They lost wickets at regular intervals, but one should also praise Pakistan bowlers for their disciplined approach. Not only did they not give easy runs, they were on the money with the ball. Mohammad Nawaz and Wahab Riaz were the pick of the bowlers, scalping three and two wickets respectively.

Pakistan have been a dominant side so far, winning the T20 and ODI series 3-0. Pakistan will be brimming with confidence and hope to take this winning streak in the Test series, which starts next week.
