German luxury carmaker Audi will pull the wraps off its smallest SUV in the Q series in India on Monday.

The cheaper S variant of Audi's most affordable luxury SUV will make its debut in Delhi with a de-tuned 2.0-litre TDI engine mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 2.0-litre TDI engine produces a power of 40 bhp and peak torque of 320 Nm. The new model will miss Quattro AWD system and daytime running LED lights.

The Audi Q3 S will pack feature like Airbags, ABS, steering mounted controls, music system, electronically adjustable driver seat, infotainment display and 18-inch alloy wheels. It will be 140 kgs lighter than Q3.

Audi is yet to reveal the price of the vehicle, but previous reports suggest that the company which aims to get a strong foothold in India's price sensitive market is likely to introduce the new small SUV for ₹25 lakh and will compete with Mercedes A and B-Class and the upcoming BMW 1-series. Like its bigger sibling Audi Q3, the Q3 S is also expected to make good waves in the auto market.

Audi Q3 is currently sold for not less than ₹30 lakh. The company had initially launched Q3 for ₹26.21 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra), but raised its price and for all other models due to high input costs.
