Audi India has launched the updated A6 priced at Rs 49.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which will be sold only in one fully loaded variant.

The new A6 sports the same design principles as those of the newly unveiled Audi TT that features a single frame grille and headlights with horizontal DRLs. The air inlets, bumpers, side sills, rear lights and tail pipes have been updated, giving it a fresh new feel.

The most notable addition is the Matrix LED headlight system that debuted with Audi A8. Though the changes are limited to the exterior and are not easy to recognise, it is commendable that Audi has managed to give A6 a good enough mid-life facelift to go up against the likes of Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series.

The interior is also spruced up with new seat and dashboard trims. The updated Audi's MMI Navigation system with MMI Touch now comes with a 20.32 cm retractable screen. The car also features a 14-speaker 600W Bose surround sound system.

The new A6 is powered by a 2.0-litre TDI engine generating 188bhp (up by 14bhp) power. Audi claims the output has been increased by seven percent and fuel efficiency by five percent. The engine is mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox with steering mounted paddle shifters. The petrol engine version is not available.

This is Audi's sixth launch this year after Audi R8 LMX, Audi RS 7 Sportback, Audi TT Coupe, Audi RS 6 Avant and the facelifted Audi Q3.
