Director Ram Gopal Varma's Telugu movie "Attack," starring Manchu Manoj, Surabhi, Poonam Kaur, Jagapati Babu, Prakash Raj and Vadde Naveen, has received mixed reviews and poor ratings from critics.

Written by Ram Gopal Varma, "Attack" is an action entertainer, which deals with a routine revenge plot. Guru Raj (Prakash Raj) is a businessman and he is killed by an unknown gang, while he is visiting a temple with his three sons (Jagapathi Babu, Vadde Naveen and Manchu Manoj). Radha (Manoj) takes up the challenge, when his elder brothers fail to find a clue about the murder. How he unravels the mystery will form the crux of the story.

The movie has a routine revenge plot, but the director has made it engrossing with several twists and turns in the screenplay. The film has a crisp runtime of 107 minutes, but it suffers from slow-paced narration. The director seems to have unnecessarily stretched the climax of the film.

Ram Gopal Varma has tried his best to tap out superb performances from all the artistes. Manchu Manoj, Surabhi, Prakash Raj, Jagapthi Babu, Abhimanyu Singh, Vadde Naveen have done brilliant acting and their performances are the big assets of the movie. Poonam Kaur has also done her best, but her character is under developed in this dark revenge drama.

"Attack" has decent production values and picturisation and its music is the biggest attraction in the technical front. The film has been rated an average of 1.33 out of 5 stars. We bring to you some critics' verdict and ratings for it. Continue to see them in the "Attack movie review roundup:

123 Telugu Rating: 2.5

Attack is yet another attempt from RGV which goes wayward. RGV himself needs to be blamed as he dragged a simple story line and made it quite confusing for the audience. Except for Manchu Manoj's sincere efforts, this film has nothing much to offer and can only be given a shot if you have absolutely nothing to do.

Ram Gopal Varma has clearly outsmarted his previous best movies with this project. It is a dark gripping tale and the movie has no flaws except Poonam Kaur's character. The movie has its own brutality, emotions and romance too ! Ram Gopal Varma has definitely directed a new age cinema which keeps audience engaged right from the start to end. Interval block will remain one of the best ever in recent times. However the movie has its negative side too. Surabhi is hardly seen in the movie. But at least she performs better than Poonam. Songs are a big let down.

Chitramala Ratings: 1.5

The plot of Attack is just laced with attacks and counter attacks. There is nothing to look into this story. Dialogues are simple and philosophical at times. All the characters in the movie are under developed. The script of this Attack is a big zero. Screenplay is bad. It fails to engage audience and also fails to create curiosity.
