Royal Challengers Bangalore seem to be busy with IPL 2018 preparations as the 11th edition is set to take place in April-May 2018.

RCB, who need to be smart with player retention and RTMs during the IPL auction early next year, have already done some smart business, signing up Ashish Nehra as their mentor.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, it was during Zaheer Khan's marriage recently that the former India pacer informed his friends about the new assignment he would be taking up.

The decision on the matter is yet to be made official, but it could be just be a matter of time. And one does not know if Nehra will be given the responsibility of looking after RCB bowlers as they lack a coaching professional in the bowling department.

The left-arm pacer has been one of India's best bowler when fit, and will be eager to help the RCB bowlers.

However, he will know the players he will have to work with only after the mega IPL auction. In fact, Nehra could also pass some useful information to RCB officials as to the type of bowlers the IPL franchise should target in the auction.

After having played for teams like Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Pune Warriors and Sunrisers Hyderabad, he has plenty of IPL experience under his belt to assist RCB players.

The Delhi man retired from international cricket after playing the first T20I between India and New Zealand at his home ground, Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, on November 1, 2017.

He left behind all forms of the game, including the IPL, and also joined the Star Sports commentary team.

Nehra, who last played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL, could be now seen in RCB colours as a support staff for the first time.
