The internet was abuzz on Saturday with the news that popular actors Arya and Nayanthara were going to wed. An innovative wedding invite was also doing the rounds in internet circles, with the wedding date fixed as 11 May.

The invite surprised everybody, but it was later confirmed that the wedding card was a publicity stunt to promote Arya-Nayan starrer "Raja Rani". Nayanthara's manager issued a clarification that Arya and Nayan are not seeing each other and the invite was part of a strategy to promote the film.

After the wedding poster was unveiled, a 45-second teaser of "Raja Rani" was released by the makers. The teaser begins with messages - "There is life after love failure" and "There is love after love failure". The video shows Arya and Nayanthara dressing up in front of a mirror, while their mirror images show them tussling with each other like small children.

The description of the teaser said that "'Raja Rani' is a romantic comedy for all age groups, with a stellar star cast, revolving around the lives of two indifferent people (Arya & Nayanthara), who get married to each other."

Directed by debutant Atlee, the film's star cast includes Santhanam, Jai, Nazriya, Sathyan, Manobala and Satyaraj. G.V Prakash composes music for the film. It is produced by Fox Star Studios & AR Murugadoss. "Raja Rani" is expected to hit the theatres in June.

In the current trend, filmmakers go to any extent to get publicity for their films. Recently, director Bala's "Paradesi" teaser created furore before the film's release. The 40-second video, called "reality teaser," shows the director hitting and whacking his actors to perform their scenes well. The teaser created uproar among fans and members of the film fraternity. While some criticised the video, others termed it as a pure marketing strategy to promote the film which was released on 15 March.
