The new teaser of director Bala's most-anticipated film "Paradesi" released on Tuesday evening has created uproar among fans and members of the film fraternity.

The 40-second video, called "reality teaser," shows the director hitting and whacking his actors to perform their scenes well. While some have criticized the video, others have termed it as a pure marketing strategy to promote the movie which releases on 15 March (this Friday).

Lead actor of the film Adharvaa tweeted: "Hey guys in that video it's nt d real stick which bala sir hitting us!"

Actress Vedika, who also stars in the movie, tweeted: "Tweeple its just the making video where sir is enacting the shot. Its very evident."

The script of "Paradesi" is based on real-life incidents during the pre-independece era. It's music is composed by GV Prakash.

The film will be released in nearly 300 screens across Tamil Nadu and will have the biggest ever release in North Indian multiplexes. Popular bollywood director Anurag Kashyap's Phantom Movies is distributing the movie in upmarket multiplexes. This is the first time that a non-star film is getting released in more theatres in North India.

"Paradesi" will also be released in multiple theatres overseas, thanks to Ayngaran International.
