The season 7 of Arrow is going to get whole lot exciting. It looks like Stephen Amell wasn't joking after all when he said that he wanted his writers to give their all for this instalment.
The actor, who plays the titular role, teased his fans with the idea that someone on set was trying on a superhero suit for the first time. "Watching someone try on a superhero suit for the first time ever never gets old," he posted.
The obvious reaction would be to assume that said "someone" could be Ruby Rose, given she has been confirmed to appear as Batwoman in the crossover episode this December. However, the network isn't quite there with their filming schedules. Arrow has wrapped up the episode three as Supergirl lead actor Melissa Benoist announced her return on the sets just last week.
Everyone we know on the show has also put on a suit in the last six seasons that the show has aired. Of course, except for Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne). So, who is the new caped-crusader on the block?
Comicbook.com speculates it could be Felicity Smoak a.k.a Overwatch. It would take some time getting used to seeing her going out in the field considering how she's always behind a desk, helping the team take down enemies by sharing necessary information. However, the idea sounds like a lot of fun.
Earlier this year she was also asked if Felicity and Oliver Queen (Amell) are expecting a baby, to which she said that the relationship arc has been explored adding that it would be nice to see her fight criminals for a change.
"I feel like she deserves a little something more than that, and I don't want that to be taken the wrong way. I'd just be interested in seeing her, I don't know, like, deal with a villain face-to-face for a consistent number of episodes?," Rickards told TV Guide.
In other news, there's been no confirmation on who would play the antagonist for this season but Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Avecedo) is sticking around for a couple episodes for sure. Rumour has it, the Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) from the other Earth will be seen wanting to avenge for Lance's death.
Arrow season 7 is scheduled to premiere on October 15.
