The Angry Birds are back again to take revenge on the Bad Piggies. Rovio Entertainement, the company behind the popular puzzle video game Angry Birds, will release its twelfth game in the series titled Angry Birds 2 on 30 July, 2015.

The new game will be released only on mobile devices. It had previously clarified that the game will be out for Android and iOS devices.

Angry Birds 2 will be the first official sequel to the original game and will see the return of Red, Chuck and Bomb. Besides, Angry Birds 2 will also have a new bird, Silver. The game was released earlier in Canada but 30 July will mark its release worldwide.

The game reportedly will have better visuals and gameplay, apart from newer spells like blizzard, hot peppers and magic ducks.

Players will also find a new mode in the game called Arena. This mode will allow them to challenge other players for upgrades.

The new game will charge up fans waiting for it since its reveal earlier this month.

Niklas Hed, co-founder of Rovio, noted that the game has evolved "dramatically" since its release in 2009.

"With Angry Birds 2 we wanted to bring a level of expressive depth and detail seen previously only in a console game or animated series – and create a new game that kids and adults alike won't be able to put down," Attack of the Fanboy quoted Hed as saying.

"Angry Birds 2 doubles down on the core tenets of the original that our fans loved: destruction and more destruction!" adds creative director Patrick Liu. "At the same time it adds a whole new layer of emergent strategy gameplay for both old and new fans to master."

In 2014, the company reportedly recorded a 9% fall in revenue, prompting many to question if it was heavily dependent on Angry Birds series. Its other games like Retry and Amazing Alex are not as popular as Angry Birds.
