Aneet Padda's sister Reet Padda calls Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar propaganda, slams Priyanka Chopra's Oscars 2026 Palestine chant

Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar parts 1 and 2 have emerged as the highest-grossing films of 2026, with the franchise crossing ₹500 crore at the box office.

Moviegoers and celebrities alike have applauded filmmaker Aditya Dhar for his 'peak detailing,' Ranveer Singh's impeccable performance, a stellar star cast, and a gripping storyline. The soundtrack, featuring banger original songs, has also struck a chord with audiences. From Karan Johar, Jr NTR, and Alia Bhatt to Ram Gopal Varma, many have praised the film, though some celebrities and social media influencers have labelled it as propaganda.

Saiyaara fame Aneet Padda made headlines following comments by her sister, Reet Padda, about Dhurandhar. Several of Reet's Instagram comments went viral, in which she responded to users explaining why she considered Dhurandhar, The Kashmir Files, and The Kerala Story propaganda.

"First, the whole thing about calling films like Kashmir Files, Kerala Files, and Dhurandhar propaganda. For Dhurandhar, it literally serves as a government-friendly narrative, using political speeches to justify, say, the minor hiccup of demonetisation. Call it propaganda? Yep. Deny it? Not a chance. But maybe your definition of propaganda is... different, who knows. As for Kashmir Files and Kerala Files, the films apparently enjoy a bit of creative math: '32,000 women converted to Islam!' when real cases barely scrape a few hundred. But hey, that's how propaganda works, right?"

She also criticised Priyanka Chopra for not speaking about the Israel-Gaza war at the Oscars.

Addressing her critique of Priyanka Chopra, Reet said,  "Priyanka had an opportunity to oppose an illegal war while standing next to someone who took a stand, but she couldn't even clap. If my sister were in that position, I'd hope she rises to the occasion. If she doesn't, I'll be the first to call her out."

In closing, she stated, "I don't discriminate against individuals. But I strongly oppose political figures who manipulate religion for political gain, especially when it leads to violence. That's a crime, and I will speak against it. I'm not afraid to take a stand, even if it's unpopular."

One more netizen tweeted, "More people need to talk about Aneet Padda & Reet Padda's political views so nationalists get to know about them & don't spend their money on Aneet Padda's future movies (if any). Guess I made a major mistake by watching Saiyaara. Aneet Padda is banned for lifetime now."

Till now, Aneet has not yet shared any statement about her sister's post and comments.

Rajinikanth's praise for Dhurandhar 2

Recently, Rajinikanth was all praise for Dhurandhar 2, calling it 'box office ka baap'. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "What a film ... #Dhurandhar2‌ !!! Aditya Dhar (salute emoji) box office -ka baap !!! Many congratulations to Ranveer and the entire cast and crew. A must watch film for every indian. Jai hind @AdityaDharFilms @RanveerOfficial."

Aditya responded to him, writing, "Sir, we've all grown up measuring "entertainment" with just one benchmark, YOU. Making us whistle, laugh, cry and feel larger than life for decades and still doing it with the same swag and grace, that's pure magic. So for you to call Dhurandhar 2 a "must watch" feels like the biggest 'superstar' moment of my life. It feels like a blessing from the very person who taught us all to dream bigger. Dhurandhar 2 was released in theatres on March 19, with paid premieres held on March 18. The film has already collected over Rs 580 crore net in India. The spy thriller also features Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Gaurav Gera, and several other actors in key roles.
