Samsung hasn't been prompt in releasing new software to its devices in the past but it appears to be keen on rolling out Android Oreo to its eligible handsets. The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners in India have now reportedly received the OS beta version.

According to SamMobile, the Android Oreo beta update for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in India could be the second phase of the OS update though the South Korean technology giant hasn't announced it officially.

How to register for Android Oreo beta programme

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ owners can register for Android Oreo beta programme from the Samsung Members app: Home>Notices>Register for Galaxy Beta Program. Click register button after agreeing to the terms and conditions, then download it manually through the Settings.

The Android Oreo beta update is said to weigh 1,395MB.

Samsung is tight-lipped on the seeding of Google's latest operating system to its handsets but several reports have suggested that it could happen early next year, perhaps by the end January 2018 or in February.
