Tamil actor Anandraj is the latest victim of a death hoax. A fake message of the actor passing away had gone viral on the Internet and on new-age digital platforms like WhatsApp.

However, Anandraj has clarified he is fit and fine, and busy with the shooting of "Vallavanukku Vallavan," starring Bobby Simha. He said in a statement: "I am glad in a way, because this incident had actually displayed the love and affection of my friends and well wishers."

The rumours said Anandraj suffered heart attack and passed away recently. They had gone viral on WhatsApp and people had started sharing condolence messages. Anandraj's clarification came as a big relief to his fans, who were shocked by the "news" of his death. 

He joins the long list of celebrities who have fallen victim to death hoaxes. The list includes such names as Bindu Madhavi, Arya, MS Bhaskar and Ajith Kumar.

Anandraj has acted in over 100 films in different languages. He made his debut with the 1988 film "Oruvar Vaazhum Aalayam" and predominately featured in negative roles.

In his successful career, he has worked with stars like Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Vijayakanth, Mammootty and Ilayathalapathy Vijay. He was recently seen in the hit film "Naanum Rowdydhaan," starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayantara.
