And the stage is set for Cannes 2026. Who's who from Bollywood and Hollywood will be attending the Cannes Film Festival this year, serving drop-dead gorgeous looks.
On Monday, Alia Bhatt arrived in the French Riviera, and several videos and photos of the same have gone viral.

The actor opted for an all-black ensemble look, chic and giving total boss lady vibes. Alia wore a tailored Carolina Herrera blazer with puffed shoulders and a cinched waist, paired with matching Camila skinny trousers from the label's Spring 2026 collection. She completed the monochrome look with luxury accessories from Gucci.
Alia kept her look sleek and polished with a semi-corporate silhouette that blended high fashion with understated elegance. As Gucci's global brand ambassador, she carried the label's iconic Jackie 1961 Medium Shoulder Bag in black leather and accessorised with round-frame Gucci sunglasses.

She paired the outfit with Manolo Blahnik Carolyne 70 black satin slingback pumps, maintaining a sharp and refined aesthetic as she arrived in Nice ahead of the festival.
As soon as she arrived at the airport, she greeted the media and even gave autographs to her fans as she landed in Cannes.
Alia, who is one of the global brand ambassadors for L'Oréal Paris, will be walking the red carpet in the coming days. On May 10, the account of L'Oréal Paris shared a promotional campaign for the Cannes Film Festival. The video started with posters of actresses associated with the brand being unfurled from the iconic Hôtel Martinez in Cannes. Alia Bhatt, who recently joined the brand, was also featured in the post.
The post also featured posters of Viola Davis, Eva Longoria, and Helen Mirren. The video was shared with the caption, "And... action! The most iconic façade in Cannes is getting its festival look. @martinezhotel is officially dressed in L'Oréal Paris."

However, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was missing.
While fans of Alia loved her presence and poster in the reel post by L'Oréal, the absence of Aishwarya Rai irked fans, and they took to social media and slammed the brand left, right and centre.
I don’t know who in @lorealparisfr or @LOrealParisIn needs to hear this, but putting Alia Bhatt instead of #AishwaryaRaiBachchan feels almost BLASPHEMOUS.

Your Marketing team needs to be fired for undermining the magnitude of such longstanding legendary associations.

A comment on the post read, "Without Aishwarya, L'Oréal is nothing in India."
Another comment read, "Everyone in the comments is asking for Aishwarya Rai. New faces may come, but you can't replace the OG Aishwarya. Even you know her worth!"
While Alia Bhatt was brutally trolled when she gave autographs to fans at the airport upon arrival, many called it a heavy-load PR stunt.
Take a look:

Several questions about Aishwarya Rai's poster hounded the brand. Some even argued that the brand should not have given space to Alia Bhatt over Aishwarya Rai.
It has been reported that Alia Bhatt will be joining the festival for the opening on May 12.
