"Rustom" actor Akshay Kumar is one of the most bankable stars in Bollywood after Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. Akshay's movies are a sure shot winner at the box office and his past movies, including "Airlift" and "Housefull 3" are a proof of it.

And now he is ready to deliver another blockbuster hit with "Rustom." Akshay's "Rustom" has generated positive buzz until now and based on the hype trade experts have predicted that the film will have a good box office run. In fact, trade experts have predicted that the film will be Akshay's third Rs. 100 crore grosser this year.

"Airlift" and "Housefull 3," which were released this year, crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark at the domestic box office and are the second and third highest grossers of 2016. Now, eyes are set on "Rustom" to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark and if it does then it will make Akshay the only Bollywood actor to have three Rs. 100 crore grosser in a year.

"Obviously, Rustom is a big film and its trailer has been hugely liked by the audience. In fact, both films (Rustom and Mohenjo Daro) are big and of course when two big films release on the same day they eat into each other's business," trade analyst Amul Mohan told BollywoodLife.com.

"I don't want to compare both the movies but Akshay may have an edge due to his successful stint at the box office this year with two super hits Airlift and Housefull 3 with both doing Rs 100 crores plus business at domestic box office and due to all round positive response to the trailer of Rustom," he added.

"Rustom" starring Akshay, Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta, is inspired by the life of navy officer K.M. Nanavati. The film is slated to release on Aug. 12 along with Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro."
