Several Bollywood celebrities have often spoken about their love for reading and the kind of impact that books have had on shaping their perspectives. Actors like Shah Rukh Khan and Sonam Kapoor have time and again mentioned turning to literature for inspiration and creative growth. Some even share book recommendations with fans, offering a glimpse into their personal interests beyond cinema. However, a recent confession by Akshay Kumar has left the audience absolutely stunned. He recently admitted that he has never read a book in his entire life.
In a lighthearted moment on the upcoming episode of his reality show, Wheel of Fortune, he surprised everyone with a rather cheeky admission. The actor admitted that he has never actually finished a book in his life. The irony was not lost on anyone, considering his wife, Twinkle Khanna, is a bestselling author who makes it a point to read at least a book a day. His playful honesty has amused all his fans and followers alike.

While interacting with a contestant named Yash on the show, "Aapko pata hai maine zindagi mein aaj tak ek bhi kitab nahi padhi hai. Maine chehre padha hoon. Sach bataun, meri wife writer hain aur mujhe lagta hai woh din mein ek kitab zaroor padhti hain. By God, maine ek bhi kitab nahi padhi. Maine sirf chehre padhe hain. Sach kehta hoon, chehre se badiya kitab koi nahi hoti (You know I haven't read a single book in my life. I've only read faces. To tell you the truth, my wife is a writer, and I think she reads at least one book a day. By God, I haven't read a single book. I've only read faces. To tell you the truth, there's no better book than faces)."
This happened after Yash, who was a contestant on the show, spoke about himself being a marine engineer by profession and revealed that he has spent a decade writing cartoon scripts and anchoring for the Mumbai Indians. He also mentioned writing projects for Rohit Shetty's Golmaal, Little Singham and Simmba. Yash also joked that he now hopes to write for Sooryavanshi too.
Akshay then remarked, "So basically, you are a writer," before talking about how he has never read a book.
In terms of work, Akshay has a packed slate of releases lined up, keeping fans excited for what's next. He will be seen in the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, and is also said to be returning with popular franchises like Hera Pheri and Bhagam Bhag, promising a mix of laughs, drama, and entertainment.
