Akshara Haasan to join Ajith Kumar for Thala 57/AK57 shoot

Kamal Haasan's daughter Akshara Haasan has been roped in to play an important role in Ajith Kumar's next movie. The actress has joined the film unit to shoot for her portions.

Akshara Haasan made her acting debut with Bollywood movie Shamitabh and she is now set to foray into Tamil films with Ajith Kumar's 57th movie, which is known Thala 57/AK57. Directed by Siva, this untitled film is touted to be a spy thriller and the film unit is busy shooting for a month-long schedule in Bulgaria.

The budding actress took to her Twitter handle on Monday to inform her followers that she will soon join the unit of Thala 57 in Bulgaria. The excited Akshara Haasan tweeted: "En route Bulgaria."

Akshara Haasan will be seen sharing screen space with Ajith Kumar in the most-awaited film, which is currently being canned in the beautiful locales of Europe. "Apart from Bulgaria, they will also be shooting in some exotic locations across Europe. They are currently shooting some important action sequences," a source from the film's unit told IANS.

Produced by Satya Jyothi Films, Thala57 is set to be the highest budget film for Ajith Kumar. Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan are playing the female leads, while Vivek Oberoi appears as the antagonist. Anirudh Ravichander has been brought on board to compose music for its songs and background score.

Akshara Haasan had hoped to make it big with her debut Bollywood film Shamitabh, but the movie failed at the box office. After two years, she has bagged an offer to star in Thala 57. She has also been signed to play a female lead in director Mysskin's fantasy film Thupparivaalan starring Vinay Rai, Prasanna, Anu Emmanuel and K. Bhagyaraj.

Akshara Haasan is also working as an assistant director in Kamal Haasan's Sabaash Naidu.
