In a surprising development, Ajith's next movie that is presently being called "Thala 56", has been launched on Thursday, 9 April. The movie was supposed to kick-start on 14 April for the Tamil New Year.
The muhurat has take place at AM Rathnam's office on Thursday. The Thursday sentiment of the producer continues with this event, which is a low-key affair.

Earlier, it was reported that "Thala 56" would begin on 14 April. But now, to everybody's surprise, it had its formal muhurat five days before. AM Rathnam, Siva, Anirudh Ravichander and a few others attended the event.
The movie reportedly has Shruti Haasan in the female lead role. It was expected that the makers would reveal the cast and crew. But they did not open it on the issue. As per the buzz, Santhanam, and Thambi Ramaiah are in the cast.
Shruti Haasan is teaming up with Ajith Kumar for the first time, and Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the music. The young musician is quite excited about composing music for his favourite actor's film. Other details are yet to be announced. The film has Antony L Ruben's editing, cinematography by Vetri and action choreography by 'Stunt' Silva.
