Although "Action Hero Biju" is a police oriented movie, it is not like the usual action thrillers and is touted as a pure comedy entertainer mixed with some emotional moments. The character played by Nivin -- SI BIju Paulose -- is said to be a familiar person who we come across in our day-to-day life, but not seen on the big screen yet. The movie also has Prajod Kalabhavan, Joju George, Kochu Preman, Saiju Kuruppu, Major Ravi, Rony David Raj, and Maju Mathew in pivotal roles.

Lensman Reviews

The script isn't a story-oriented one and it focuses more on being true to the tagline of the film. The irony, humor, sentiments elements of the film are actually injected in the various cases Biju Paulose had to look in to. Action Hero Biju is humorous, real, emotional and atypical. It has multiple messages for us, but there is no conventional preaching. If you are someone who likes to see humour and sentimental scenes without the company of theatrical dialogues and music, Action Hero Biju will entertain you. Except for the level of climax heroics, everything else in Action Hero Biju made the cinema lover in me really happy.

Abrid Shine had again succeeded in giving a film that gives us a feel of variety as well as one
which entertains us. He had a correct idea about each and every single aspect of the story and narration of the story and that control was evident throughout the film. It had everything in it
for fans as well as normal audience. Jerry Amal Dev's music was good and he took us back to the golden era of Malayalam music through his tunes. Rajesh Murugeshan had given great background scoring and Alex Pullickal's DOP was also fantastic as it really gave the feel that the director wanted it to create.

Mollywood Times

Action Hero Biju is a rewritten statement of the so-called high voltage cop stories in Mollywood. We have seen Biju on the streets, in our neighbourhoods and in our police stations. But definitely, this is the first time we are seeing him on screen, and that makes Biju a must-see.

Nivin as SI Biju Paulose of an Janamytree Police Station has done a neat job and performed in a very natural way. A brave police officer who wishes to serve the society and people. A well executed script which narrates the other side of a police officer that we see in our daily life, which is taken in very natural an realistic manner.
