After "Premam," Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly is set to rule the box office with the release of his latest flick "Action Hero Biju." The Abrid Shine directorial, which was released on Feb. 4, has been garnering amazing response from movie-goers across India and abroad for its fresh concept and comedies.
The Nivin starrer has approximately collected Rs 1.59 crore on the opening day in Kerala and grossed $10,635 [Rs 7.23 lakh] from two screens in the US on the weekend. The comedy entertainer is also estimated to have collected Rs 18.63 lakh from more than 12 screens in Tamil Nadu on the first day of its theatrical run. "Action Hero Biju" is said to have collected a gross amount of Rs 4.38 crore within 5 days of its release from Kerala alone. The box office collection reports from the United Kingdom, Asia Pacific and Africa are yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, with the success of "Premam," Nivin has been enjoying a huge fan following in Tamil Nadu and the latest movie is also expected to rock the Chennai box office. Interestingly, blockbuster hit "Premam" is still running successfully at SPI cinemas in Chennai even after 259 days of its release. If "Action Hero Biju" will repeat the success of "Premam" in Tamil Nadu is something we need to wait and watch.
As its tagline says, "Action Hero Biju" is a ride with a police officer from the Janamaithri police station in Kerala and is different from the kind of police stories the Kerala audience are familiar with. SI Biju Paulose is not like Bharathchandran IPS (Suresh Gopi) or Inspector Balram (Mammootty), who are the most popular cop avatars for Malayalis. Biju is a simple and sincere police officer who aims to serve the society. He doesn't chase a particular goon or an antagonist, instead he is seen chasing everyone who adhere to illegal activities in the area under the police station's jurisdiction.
Although the movie doesn't have a proper storyline, "Action Hero Biju" has been garnering positive reviews for its freshness and notable performances of each actor. The movie, produced by Nivin and Abrid under the banner of Pauly Jr Pictures, has been jointly scripted by Abrid and Muhammad Shafeeq. While the background score is done by Rajesh Murugesan, the songs have been composed by Jerry Amaldev.
