US President Donald Trump on Saturday issued a strong warning to Iran, saying it has just 48 hours left before severe consequences follow. He reiterated that Tehran had been given 10 days, starting March 26, to either "make a deal" or "open up the Strait of Hormuz," adding that "time is running out" with only two days remaining.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, "Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out — 48 hours before all hell will break loose. Glory be to God!"

Earlier, on March 26, Trump had said he extended the deadline at Iran's request, despite Tehran rejecting a US proposal to end the conflict as "one-sided and unfair." He noted that Iran had initially sought a seven-day pause in American strikes targeting its energy infrastructure.
Speaking to Fox News, Trump said he decided to grant a longer, 10-day extension instead. "They asked for seven days, and I said I'm going to give you 10," he said, explaining that the original deadline would have expired quickly.
