Confirming the arrival of the 2017 version of its naked motorcycle siblings — 200 Duke and 390 Duke — the Austrian Motorcycle manufacturer KTM has kicked off a teaser campaign for the upcoming model. KTM's next-generation Duke range will make its debut at the 2016 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy, on November 8.
To tickle the fancy of KTM lovers ahead of the unveiling of the new models, the company has released a new teaser video on the microsite for Dukes. Although the video does not reveal much, except the LED headlight unit of the bike, the news of the arrival of the new Duke range would be music to the ears of biking enthusiasts.
The new 390 Duke is expected to get a split headlight cluster with LED inserts. It will have new full-colour LCD instrument cluster, and feature reworked and tank extensions, which will be long, overlapping with the USD forks.
The 390 Duke is also likely to come with riding modes and ride-by-wire technology. In its new form, the bike will have a full-sized exhaust, ditching the underbelly exhaust. The new exhausts will be Euro-IV compliant.
While the 2017 200 Duke will stay within the styling of the current model, it will sport some changes and addition of new features.
At the heart of the new 390 Duke model will be the heavily-reworked 375cc, single-cylinder engine. The engine in the current 390 Duke develops 43bhp of power, which is expected to be increased in the 2017 version. The engine will comply with the stringent Euro-4 norms.
On the other hand, the next generation 200 Duke will be powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder engine that is expected to be re-tuned to churn out more power than the current version.
The new range of KTM Duke is expected to hit Indian shores in early 2017, and will cost around Rs 20,000 more than the current model.
