Tata Motors is reportedly gearing up to showcase a much powerful and sporty version of its recently-launched hatchback Bolt at the Geneva International Motor Show, which is scheduled to kick-start next week.
A latest report of Autocar India reveals that the performance-version of Tata Bolt, which is slated to make its India debut later this year, will make its maiden appearance at Geneva Motor Show and the car will wear not just the sporty body kit, but will also see changes in the engine line-up.
The performance version of Bolt will use the same 1.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine, which currently generates 84bhp, but will be re-tuned to put an output of 120 bhp and the torque is also expected to go up.
To handle this, the engine will come mated to Fiat's C501 gearbox. The suspension of the sporty Bolt will also be altered and it is likely to flaunt a 17-inch alloy wheels, body kits and flared body work. Inside the cabin too, the Bolt will get a sporty touch, however more details are awaited.
Bolt, which is currently in the market, is available in four trims -- XE, XM, XMS and XT. Under the hood, the petrol variant of Bolt gets 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-charged engine, which is tuned to generate 84bhp at 5,000rpm and a torque of 140Nm of 1,750-3,500rpm and the diesel model packs 1.3-litre Quadrajet motor that can generate 73bhp and peak torque of 190Nm.
The safety features of Bolt include dual front airbags and ABS with EBD and CSC (Corner Stability Control).
