Ford India's next launch will be the updated Endeavour and news regarding the imminent launch has surfaced on the Internet with the listing of the vehicle as the future SUV on the company's website.

Confirming the news, the new Endeavour was caught in an undisguised form during testing at Bangalore, by team-bhp.com. There were three units of the vehicle - in black, silver and red. These SUV's are reportedly doing the final testing.

The new Endeavour is a full-sized seven-seater SUV in its third generation and takes a deviation from the boxy design of the previous generation, with a more rounded design. The SUV features a trapezoidal grill with horizontal slats, projector headlamps, bumper with scuff plate and fog lamps at front. A new set of side steps and newly designed alloy wheels are the attractions in the side profile.

The spare wheel at the rear will now be inside the vehicle, helping it to shorten the length of the vehicle. It also looks more proportionate now. A new set of wrap around tail lamps, roof-mounted spoiler and a chrome embellishment above the registration plate with Endeavour badge embossed on it are the changes at the rear.

The interior has been spruced up with leather upholstery. The dashboard has been designed in an uncluttered manner in the absence of minimum switches. It has a new steering wheel that incorporates audio controls.

The Ford India website only talks about the 3.2-litre TDCi diesel without any details on the 2.2-litre diesel engine. The former is expected to churn out 197bhp of power and will be mated to 6-speed automatic transmission.

Being an off-road machine, the new Endeavour will get the Terrain management system. The system has the total of four modes (normal mode, snow, grass and mud mode) to suit the various driving terrains. The SUV will also boast of Semi Auto Parallel Park Assist for easy parking.

The Endeavour will be pitted against the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and SsangYong Rexton.
