Rajinikanth's 2.0 (Robot 2.o) witnessed a decline in its business at the box office in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/TG) on Monday, but its five day total collection has breached Rs 50 crore gross mark.

Made in three languages, 2.0 is one of the most-awaited Indian movies of 2018. The makers released the movie in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi across the Telugu states in a bid to cash on the popularity of Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and director Shankar. The hype surrounding the movie translated into decent advance booking. After seeing the hysteria, the trade experts predicted that it would start off with a bang in these areas.

Its screening began in the wee hours of Thursday and 2.0 witnessed 100 percent occupancy almost everywhere. The movie garnered positive talk from everyone and the word of mouth boosted its collection in the later shows. The Shankar-directed film collected Rs 18.20 crore at the AP/TG box office on the first day.

The word of mouth helped it fare well on the following days too. 2.0 collected Rs 49.80 crore gross at the AP/TG in four-day-extended first weekend. It earned Rs 33 crore for its distributors in four days.

The people in the trade circle were curious to see how Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer would perform on the weekdays. The sequel to Endhiran has cleared the test, by registering 100 percent occupancy in several theatres on Monday. The film has collected Rs 5.55 crore gross at the AP/TG on its fifth day, taking its total collection to Rs 55.35 crore gross in the Telugu states.

Lyca Productions, which has bankrolled 2.0, had distributed it in the Telugu states through NV Prasad's NVR Cinemas on a commission basis and theatrical rights for these areas pegged at Rs 72 crore. The movie is estimated to have earned them Rs 36 crore in five days.
