Rajinikanth's 2.0 (Robot 2) remained undeterred by new releases as it made good collection at the box office in the second weekend. The movie has crossed Rs 80 crore gross mark in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/TS) on 13th day.

Amid huge hype and expectation, 2.0 was released in over 1,400 screens across the Telugu states on November 29 and went on to collect over Rs 68 crore gross at the box office in the first week. But the movie faced a big threat in the form four new releases like Kavacham, Next Enti, ShubhalekhaLu and Subramanyapuram, which reduced its screens, shows and footfalls considerably in the second week.

Trade experts predicted that the rocking collection of 2.0 would be stalled by new releases. As expected, the new Telugu films took a toll on the business of the Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer on its second Friday. It was also affected by the polling for Telangana assembly elections on its ninth day.

But the Shankar-directed sci-fi action film sprung from its ashes and showed a decent growth on its second Saturday and Sunday. The movie 2.0 has collected over Rs 10 crore gross at the AP/TS box office in the second weekend. Its 11-day total collection has reached Rs 78 crore gross in the Telugu states.

The sequel to Enthiran needed Rs 2 crore gross to breach Rs 80 crore mark at the AP/TS box office. 2.0 is estimated to have collected Rs 1.50 crore gross on its second Monday and another Rs 50 crore gross in the afternoon on Tuesday. The movie has gone on to set another benchmark in the Telugu states on its 13th day.

Besides producing it, Lyca Productions has distributed 2.0 in the Telugu states through NV Prasad's NVR Cinemas on a commission basis. Its theatrical rights for these areas are pegged at Rs 72 crore. The movie is estimated to have earned them Rs 47.69 crore in 11 days.
