This year's holiday season is about to burst with innumerable number of new movies. From expected blockbuster hit to award contender, the last month of the year can be filled with numerous movie dates.

From horror to comedy, thriller to drama, a movie can capture the spirit of holidays perfectly. Not only that, even a Star Wars spin-off movie Rogue One will hit the screen very soon.

Jackie (December 2)

Natalie Portman starring Jackie tells the story of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history as Portman plays the role of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. The story follows her struggling days that how she tries to maintain her husband's legacy even after his death.

La La Land (December 16)

Rogue One – A Star Wars Story (December 16 )

A Star Wars spin-off movie Rogue One is releasing this month. The movie (Felicity Jones, Diego Luna) follows the mission that leads to the events that take place in "A New Hope."

Passengers (December 21)

This sci-fi drama tells the story of Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) and James (Chris Pratt) who will be seen travelling to a distant colony planet until they realise the whole ship is in danger.

Assassin's Creed (December 21)

Based on the popular game, the movie stars Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch, who learns he's a descendant of the secret Assassins society and then the story takes turn accordingly.

Patriots Day (December 21)

Patriots Day follows the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings where police Sgt. Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg) tries to hunt down the suspects.

Fences (December 25)
