Bollywood film "Go Goa Gone" witnessed a slump in collections in its first week at the box office. The film touted to be India's first zom-com has failed to entertain audiences in the country.

Previous release "Shootout at Wadala" which is in its second week is performing better than Saif Ali Khan's "Go Goa Gone" at the box office.

The film based on zombies has collected ₹1.60 crore on Wednesday, taking the overall total to ₹18.42 crore.

Looking at the earnings, the first week collections of the film will total to ₹20 to ₹21 crore in India, which is very disappointing considering the big star cast.

According to trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh, the breakup of the film is Friday ₹3.75 crore, Saturday ₹4.25 crore, Sunday ₹4.90 crore, Monday ₹2.05 crore, Tuesday ₹1.87 crore and Wednesday ₹1.60 crore.

"This is below the mark as more was expected from the film. The movie is good, but that hasn't translated into numbers at the box office," Adarsh said.

"The film has done average, reasonable business. They (producers) may recover their money, but Saif will not benefit commercially from the film. He hasn't taken any remuneration anyway. On the other hand, Aashiqui 2, which released two weeks ago, is still doing average business. It crossed R60cr this week, which is very good for the budget it was made in," trade analyst Amod Mehra said, according to Hindustan Times.

The Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK directed film also features Kunal Khemu, Vir Das and Anand Tiwari in important roles. The collections might further go down with the release action and crime thriller film "Aurangzeb" which features Arjun Kapoor in double roles.
