Stylish action thriller "Arrambam" released on 31 October as a special Diwali treat for Ajith fans. The film received fantastic response on its release and still continues to be screened in some theatres including multiplexes in Chennai like Sathyam, Escape and PVR.

The Ajith starrer successfully completed seven weeks in theatres and has entered into its eighth week. "Arrambam" along with other Diwali release - "Pandiya Nadu" - has managed to hold well at the box office. The Vishal starrer, which released on 2 November, will be completing 50 days on 21 December.

"Arrambam" is still being screened not just in India, but also in key overseas markets. According to reports, the film has entered the 50th day in Malaysia and Sri Lanka as well.

Directed by Vishnu Vardhan, "Arrambam" is about a former member of the anti-terrorist squad, who is on a mission to expose the scam involved in making faulty bullet proof jackets. The film has Ajith, Arya, Nayanthara and Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles.

Ajith's performance and his daredevil stunt sequences had a grand reception from the audience. The film took the biggest opening in Ajith's career and continued to perform well. According to reports, "Arrambam" has grossed over ₹100 crore at the worldwide box office. Despite several new releases in the last one month, the Vishnu Vardhan directorial has managed to attract audiences.

The Telugu dubbed version of "Arrambam", which was released on 6 December, has also received a good feedback.  The Telugu version titled "Aata Arrambam" has done average business at the Andhra Pradesh box office. The film managed to perform better than a few Telugu releases in the state.

If the latest rumours are to be believed, "Arrambam" might soon go to Bollywood. Buzz is actor-director Prabhu Deva might remake the film in Bollywood, however, there is no official confirmation on the same.
