Chinese smartphone-maker Xiaomi has reportedly been planning to retail Mi 4i via open sale in India next week.
The company's official e-commerce affiliate, Flipkart, confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 4i open sale will go live on Flipkart on 25-26 May. During this open sale, there is no need for the buyers to get registered to make the purchase. Consumers can just log in to their respective Flipkart accounts anytime during the 48-hour time window to buy the phone.
This welcome move by the e-retailer will certainly cheer many Mi fans, who so far been unable to get their hands on the device since its launch four weeks ago thanks to the dubious flash sale business model. Earlier on Thursday, 21 May, close to 30,000 units got sold out within minutes.
For the uninitiated, Xiaomi Mi 4i sports a 5.0-inch full HD screen and run on the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS (with MIUI) backed by the second generation Snapdragon 615 Octa-core SoC, Adreno 405 graphics engine, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage capacity and high-capacity 3,120mAh battery, which can power the phone for close to 1.5 days.
