The last few movies of Darshan had failed to meet the expectations of the audience. Even though the films were commercially successful to some extent, content-wise it had disappointed the viewers.

Now, he is returning with "Viraat" with the hope that the latest flick would impress the Sandalwood audience. The film has been in the making for over three years. The project was delayed for some reason or the other and finally, it saw the light of the day on Friday, 29 January.
Darshan has paired up with Isha Chawla, Vidisha Shrivastav and Chaitra Chandranath. Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Sumalatha are in important roles with P Ravi Shankar, Srinivasa Murthy, Sadhu Kokila, Bullet Prakash, Chitra Shenoy, Bank Janardhan and others in supporting roles.
The Kannada movie has been written and directed by H Vasudeva and leading Telugu filmmaker C Kalyan has produced the flick. It has V Harikrishna's music and AV Krishna Kumar's cinematography.
"Viraat" is an action-comedy that has all the commercial elements to entertain the audience. The trailer of the movie had impressed the viewers and people wish that the Kannada flick will live up to the expectations this time.
