Vanitha-Cera film awards 2016: Prithviraj, Nivin, Parvathy win awards; Sunny Leone, Hansika perform [PHOTOS+VIDEOS]

The much-awaited Vanitha-Cera Film Awards 2016 began at 6:30 p.m. at the Greenfield stadium at Karyavattom in Thiruvananthapuram Sunday, Feb. 21. 

The star-studded event was attended by almost all the celebrities of the Malayalam entertainment industry. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Parvathy, RS Vimal, Nivin Pauly, Namitha Pramod, Jayasurya, Rima Kallingal, Chemban Vinod, Lena, Aju Varghese, Nedumudi Venu, Mamta Mohandas, Krishna Sankar, Sharafudheen, Shabareesh, Sai Pallavi, Rafeeq Ahamed, Rajesh Murugeshan, Vijay Yesudas, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi, Jomon T John, Salim Ahamed, John Varghese and Dinesh Master received the Vanitha-Cera Film Awards 2016 this year.

Bollywood actresses Sunny Leone and Bipasha Basu, Tamil actresses Hansika Motwani and Taapsee Pannu, Malayalam actors Kavya Madhavan and Mamta Mohandas, and singers Shakthisree Gopalan, Vijay Yesudas, Rimi Tomy and Vaikom Vijayalakshmi entertained the audience at the gala event.

10 p.m.: Sai Pallavi is being awarded the Best Debut Actress.

9:50 p.m.: KPAC Lalitha receives the Lifetime Achievement Award.

9:30 p.m.: Hansika Motwani performs during the award show.

9:20 p.m.: Namitha Pramod wins the Most Popular Actress award.

9:02 p.m.: Shabareesh Varma, Krishna Shankar and Sharafudheen have been selected as the Best Newcomer Actors for their performance in "Premam".

9 p.m: Salim Ahamed wins the Best Scriptwriter award for the Mammootty-starrer "Pathemari."

8:55 p.m.: Aju Varghese receives the Best Comedian award for his performance in various films.

8:50 p.m.: Best Suporting Actor Award goes to Chemban Vinod.

8:45 p.m.: Kavya Madhavan performs during the award show.

8:40 p.m.: Nedumudi Venu is being awarded the Best Villain for his performance in "Oru Second Class Yathra."

8:35 p.m.: Dinesh master wins the Best Choreographer Award.

8:15 p.m.: Lena wins the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in the blockbuster movie "Ennu Ninte Moideen" as Prithviraj's mother.

7:50 p.m.: Rafeeq Ahammed wins the Best Lyricist Award for penning the words for the songs in the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer "Ennu Ninte Moideen."

7:40 p.m.: Vaikom Vijayalakshmi receives the Best Singer (female) award for the song "Kaikottum Kandittila" from the movie "Oru Vadakkan Selfie."

7:25 p.m.: Jomon T John receives the Best Cinematographer award for the movie "Ennu Ninte Moideen."

7:20 p.m.: John Varghese wins the Best Debut Director Award for the movie "Adi Kapyare Kootamani."
