Gadchiroli, Aug 13 (ANI): Two Maoists were killed in an encounter with police in India___s western province of Maharashtra. The rebels opened unprovoked firing at the police in the Khobramenda forest of Gadchiroli district. Superintendent of Police, Sandip Patil, confirmed the death of the two Maoists. Meanwhile, Patil also said they have recovered various arms and ammunitions during the search operation. The rebel group, which claims to be fighting for the rights of the poor and landless, controls some of India_s mineral-rich areas and operate in large swathes of the eastern, central and southern countryside.
