Anushka Shetty's much-talked-about movie "Size Zero" has got an average opening at the box office, and failed to beat the opening weekend business record of "Kumari 21F".

"Size Zero" is one of the most awaited Telugu films of 2015, and its promos generated a lot of curiosity among filmgoers before its release. The makers have shelled out a hefty sum on its promotion. Trade analysts predicted that the Anushka Shetty-starrer would beat the records of "Kumari 21F" and also halt its business.

The Prakash Kovelamudi-directed romantic comedy was released in around 500 screens across the globe (350 screens in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, 50 screens in other parts of India, 100 screens in the US). The film had an average advance booking for its opening day.

"Size Zero" opened to good response from the morning show on Friday and garnered mixed feedback from viewers. The word-of-mouth affected its business in the afternoon and evening shows. The collection dropped considerably on Saturday and Sunday.

"Size Zero" is estimated to have grossed approximately Rs 8.50 crore at the worldwide box office in its first weekend. Its distributors' share stands at Rs 5.50 crore. The Anushka Shetty-starrer has failed to beat the record of "Kumari 21F", which has raked in Rs 10.58 crore gross (Rs 6.34 crore distributors' share) in the global market in its opening weekend.

"Kumari 21F", starring Raj Tarun and Hebah Patel in the lead roles, has continued its dream run in the second week, collecting approximately Rs 15.50 crore gross at the worldwide box office in 10 days, with its distributors' share standing at Rs 10 crore.
