Superstar Salman Khan's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP)" has hit rock bottom at the Indian box office in its third weekend, its collection affected by "Tamasha".

"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" was released in 4,500 screens in the domestic market on 12 November and debuted with a record-breaking opening, collecting Rs 172.82 crore nett at the Indian box office in its eight-day-extended first week. But the film witnessed over 80% drop in its business in the second week and collected Rs 30.71 crore nett in the domestic market.

"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has collected Rs 203.53 crore nett at the Indian box office in 15 days. Trade experts in B-Town had predicted that its business would be affected by Ranbir Kapoor's "Tamasha". But nobody had imagined that the movie would be done and dusted by its third week.

The Sooraj Barjatya-directed family drama film has dropped the ball completely. In its third weekend, "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has collected Rs 3.10 crore nett at the Indian box office, taking its 18-day domestic total collection to Rs 206.63 crore. Its gross total stands approximately at Rs 270 crore.

"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has become the third-highest grosser for Salman Khan in the domestic market. However, its current pace of collection shows the film will not be able to beat the records of Salman's highest grosser "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Kick", which have collected Rs 320.34 crore and Rs 231.85 crore, respectively, in the domestic market.

The Salman Khan-starrer collected $13.04 million (Rs 86.57 crore) at the international box office in 11 days. The movie then witnessed huge drop in foreign markets, taking in $1 million in the next seven days. "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has a total of Rs $14.1 million (Rs 94.01 crore) gross at the overseas box office in 18 days.

The gross total of "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" stands approximately at Rs 361+ crore. Trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#PremRatanDhanPayo [Wk 3] Fri+Sat+Sun: ₹ 3.10 cr. Total: ₹ 206.63 cr. Hindi version. India biz. Overseas total: $ 14.1 million [₹ 94.01 cr]. (sic)"
