Director Imtiaz Ali's much-awaited movie "Tamasha" has launched with a bang at the Indian box office on the first day. The movie is set to become the biggest opener for actor Ranbir Kapoor.

"Tamasha" has been creating a positive buzz in the media ever since it was announced. Its promos garnered a decent amount of attention for the film. The makers have had a massive promotion for the film, which registered over 45% advance booking for its opening day a day before its release.

Amidst huge hype and promotions, the Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer released across 2100 screens across the country. The film has been the biggest opener for the actor. His later releases like "Besharam" smashed this record by collecting Rs 21.56 crore.

After seeing the hype surrounding the movie, trade analysts had predicted that "Tamasha" would get an earth-shattering response and beat the records of "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" and "Besharam". The early trends show the movie may beat the records going to become the biggest opener for Ranbir Kapoor.
