For the upcoming action drama "Gabbar Is Back", actress Shruti Haasan has lent her voice for a song picturise on herself in the Akshay Kumar starrer.

Latest reports suggest that the actress recorded the song in one hour, without a break.

"Shruti was shooting in the village of Pollachi for one of her Tamil films. In between her film schedules and her numerous brand shoots, she had just half-a-day to complete this recording. She had prepped the song in advance and had worked on the voicing so as to maximise her output at the studio. And that's exactly what happened," a source told IANS.

The upcoming film is a remake of Tamil film "Ramanna" and has Prakash Raj and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles. Kareena Kapoor and Chitrangada Singh will appear in cameo roles.

The "D-Day" actress had earlier crooned two successful songs "Joganiyan" ("Tevar") and "Sannata" ("Shamitabh").

Meanwhile, many Bollywood actresses, including Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Shraddha Kapoor among others have also proved themselves as successful singers.

Alia Bhatt

Alia made her singing debut with the unplugged version of "Samjhawan" song in "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania". She later sang the hit song "Sooha Saaha" for her 2014 release "Highway".

Priyanka Chopra

The Bollywood diva surprised her fans with her single "Exotic" with Pitbull and "In My City" with American wrapper will.i.am.

Shraddha Kapoor

The "Aashiqui 2" actress lent her voice for "Teri Galliyan" in "Ek Villian." She also sang a Kashmiri folk song for Vishal Bhardwaj directorial "Haider".

Vasundhara Das

The "Pathar Bezubaan" actress has sung a number of songs in Hindi and other south Indian languages after her hit track "Shakalaka Baby" in 1999.

Madhuri Dixit, Sridevi

While Madhuri lent her voice to the semi-classical number 'Kaahe Chhed Mohe' with Kavita Krishnamurthy and Pandit Birju Maharaj, Sridevi crooned the title track "O Meri Chandni" in the film "Chandni" (1989).
