Samsung has reportedly launched a new handset ― Galaxy Grand Neo Plus ― in India.

Mumbai-based smartphone vendor Mahesh Telecom (via Facebook) has confirmed that the new Galaxy Grand Neo variant has been launched in India and is available in their store for ₹11,700.

The new Samsung Grand model sports 5.0-inch WVGA screen and ships with Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

Under the hood, it houses 1.2GHz quad-core SoC (System on Chip), 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 64GB) and a 2,100mAh battery.

Competition:

Going by the specifications and its price tag, Samsung will find it hard to convince users to put their hard-earned money on Galaxy Grand Neo Plus because Indian market has become highly competitive with the entry of Xiaomi and Motorola. They offer popular devices Redmi 1S, Redmi Note 4 and Moto G phones with superior specifications for less or the same price tag.

Local players like Micromax, Lava and Karbonn Mobiles too are aggressive in this segment offering feature-rich devices for less than ₹10,000.
