With each passing season "Ray Donovan" increases the ante in terms of drama, action and emotion by some amount. To this end, the ongoing Season 4 gives fans a more gritty and violent version of the Donovan family than they have ever seen before.

In the previously aired episode 3, "Little Bill Primm's Big Green Horseshoe," we saw how Mickey (Jon Voight) was screwed over by his criminal associates yet again. This is a definite drawback for him and might force him to do things that would prove disastrous for his sons and their families.

Mickey's inability to make smart choices has put the Donovans in jeopardy many times in the past, the most recent one being the intruder that tried to kill Ray (Liev Schreiber). After saving Mickey from imprisonment, Ray had made it clear that he wants the older Donovan nowhere close to his home and Mickey was happy to oblige.

Now with the failure of his heist, however, Mickey seems to have forgotten their deal and has returned. It remains to be seen how Ray deals with him, considering the fix man has a lot on his plate, especially with Abby's (Paula Malcomson) sickness.

It looks like Abby might get killed off the show pretty soon. Considering the show's history, this would be the perfect time to bring in a tragedy like that, because Ray is finally completely loyal to her, and uninterested in other women.

Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) and Abby's interactions also suggest the same. If Abby dies soon, Bridget will only be left with bitter memories how badly she treated her mother.

Meanwhile, Hector (Ismael Cruz Cordova) and Marisol (Lisa Bonet) are expected to make a comeback in the upcoming episode. Watch the trailer for "Ray Donovan" Season 4 episode 4 titled "Little Bill Primm's Big Green Horseshoe" here:
