The movie titled "Kunchirakkottu Kaali" is based on the life of Kaali, who was the trusted disciple of Iravikutty Pillai, the Commander-in-Chief of the Venad Kingdom. The movie will narrate the sacrifices and heroism of the unsung heroes of the kingdom.

Prithviraj will be seen in a titular role in the upcoming epic drama. However, the other cast and crew of the project has not been revealed yet, but it is expected to see the presence of some of the biggies of South Indian industry.

If rumours are to be believed, "Kunchirakkottu Kaali" will be directed by Santhosh Sivan and produced by Prithviraj's August Cinema.

Prithviraj was earlier part of Santhosh's epic drama "Urumi" (2011) based on the life of Chirakkal Kelu Nayanar that marked the actor's debut as a producer.

Following is the Facebook post of Prithviraj:

"The history of any land is crafted by men of valour and sacrifice – some of them we know and worship but most of them we never know and are forgotten. The courage, and steadfastness of such unsung heroes are unparalleled in the history of Venad. The ballads of Venad, shrouded in the haze of time, is the story of heroic men like Chief Lieutenant 'Iravikutty Pillai' and his trusted disciple "Kunchirakkottu Kaali" and thousands of other patriots who laid down their lives in defense of their beloved land.

The lives, sacrifices and heroism of these immortal warriors of Venad will soon be relived through an epic.
