Ranchi, Oct 14 (ANI): In a special operation Jharkhand police arrested a Maoist commander who was part of more than fifty militant activities in the region. The police received information that two Maoist groups would be meeting near the Joomla hill area in Ranchi on October 11. An operation was launched by the police and the area was surrounded. He added that around 75 mines had been recovered in the area along with arms and ammunition. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s.
