Puri, Oct 26 (ANI): At least 16 people have died owing to floods in Odisha, where the situation remained grim even as major rivers were receding on Saturday. Post the Phailin cyclone, Odisha has been struck by floods now, which have resulted in several villagers becoming homeless. As per the latest report, a breach in the embankment of the river Malaguni resulted in flooding of the Kanas block. Kanas block is located in the Puri district of Bhubneshwar. The government has claimed that several boats were put into service to rescue the villagers. The rescued villagers have been served with flattened rice, molasses, drinking water and medicines. The relief camps will continue for 14 days.
