New Delhi, Sept 25 (ANI): The Maoist Central Committee admitted in a recent meeting that their strength is going down, both in terms of manpower and arms & ammunition. This is a result of successful efforts by the security forces to combat left-wing extremism, and developmental work undertaken by the government, which has stopped disgruntled youth from joining the Naxals. Maoists have been hit hard, but to show their presence, their attacks on security forces and political leaders have intensified in the recent months. In May, they attacked a Congress convoy in Sukma district which left 27 people dead, including senior Congress leaders like Nand Kumar Patel and VC Shukla.
