Pro Kabaddi side Bengaluru Bulls raider Rohit Kumar has been arrested on Friday from Mumbai in connection with the suicide of his wife in New Delhi a few days back. The 26-year-old kabaddi player's wife had committed the suicide over alleged dowry harassment by her husband and in-laws.

"This is all false. I didn't ask for any dowry from her and her father is also aware of this. If the police arrest me, I will fully cooperate with them and state the truth," Rohit told NDTV.

On Monday, Rohit's wife Lalita Dabas hung herself from a ceiling fan at her parent's home in West Delhi after alleging dowry harassment. She left behind a lengthy audio message and a note saying: "I'm not strong enough to survive this, I have decided to quit."

Rohit and Lalita married earlier in March this year, after dating for almost a year. It was Lalita's second marriage.

"On the wedding day, Rohit's parents had demanded a diesel-run Fortuner and more money," Lalita's father Karan Dabas informed the Hindustan Times. However, they decided to give Rohit's family a Honda City but they reportedly refused to accept a different car.
