After two years, director Priyadarshan and superstar Mohanlal are joining hands for the upcoming Malayalam movie "Oppam," which went on the floors March 5.
While revealing the first-look poster of the movie, the makers have announced that the Mohanlal-starrer will hit the theatres during Onam festival in Kerala in the month of September. "Revealing the official title of the movie Oppam . Mohanlal starring Oppam is directed by #Priyadarshan and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas. The movie will be the Onam release," the makers posted on the Facebook page of "Oppam."
In the upcoming film, touted to be a crime thriller, Mohanlal plays the role of a blind man throughout for the first time in his acting career. "Oppam" is one of the most-anticipated flicks in Malayalam, as hit-makers Priyadarshan and Mohanlal have together delivered many blockbusters in the industry. Although their last movie "Geethanjali" failed to make a mark at the Kerala box office, the comeback of the duo has raised the expectation of the audience from the movie as the leaked photos from the shooting location had went viral on social media soon after Mohanlal joined the team.
"Oppam" is being produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Films and has Vimala Raman, Sanchita Shetty and Mamukkoya in pivotal roles. Recently, Vimala had shared her excitement in working with the legends Priyadarshan and Mohanlal for the first time. "Peekaboo from the sets #oppam Loving working with two legends #mohanlal #priyadarshan. Super excited Life is great," the actress posted on her Twitter page.
