The preliminary competition of the Miss Universe pageant that was held on Tuesday night at Crocus City Hall in Moscow ended on a high note as the 86 contestants competed in evening gowns and swimwear categories.
The evening gown and swimwear rounds were live streamed by the Miss Universe organisers on their official YouTube page.
Both rounds were judged by a panel of seven judges including E! News correspondent Alicia Quarles, modeling manager Corrine Nicolas, award-winning TV journalist David Perozzi, PR and marketing manager Gabriel Rivera-Barraza, businesswoman Irina Agalarova, Senior Vice President of Telemundo media Jose Sariego and Miss Universe 2010 Elena Semikina from Canada.
The preliminary competition, which was hosted by Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo and Nick Teplitz, kicked-off with an introduction of the contestants followed by the swimwear and evening gown rounds. Miss Indonesia and Miss Philippines were among those applauded during the introduction.
After the introduction, the 86 ladies walked the ramp in swimsuit creations by Yamamay Swimwear.
Miss India Manasi Moghe walked the ramp in a stunning black bikini by the Italian lingerie company. Miss Philippines Ariella Arida stole the show when she paraded in a red swimsuit from the 2014 Yamamay swimwear collection and footwear by Chinese Laundry.
The other contestants who set the fabulous Russian-themed stage on fire were Miss Myanmar, Miss China, Miss Paraguay, Miss Switzerland, Miss Canada, Miss Costa Rica, Miss Vietnam, Miss Ethiopia, Miss Japan, Miss USA and Miss Great Britain among others.
The winner of the 2013 Miss Universe title will be selected on the basis of the scores of the preliminary competition (swimwear and evening gowns) and personal interview.
