A new Xiaomi smartphone E4 has been reportedly spotted at a certifications website revealing the key specifications of the device.

Technology blog Gizmo China, while leafing through the TENNA certification database, stumbled upon a document containing a yet-to-be released Xiaomi handset code-named E4.

It has come to light that Xiaomi E4 is a low-cost version of the Mi4. It houses pretty much same specifications seen inside the 2014 flagship smartphone, except RAM capacity. The former comes packed with 2GB RAM, whereas the latter ships with 3GB RAM.

Other features include 5.0-inch full HD display, 16GB/64GB inbuilt memory, Snapdragon 801 quad-core series SoC (System on Chip), 13.0-megapixe camera on the rear-side and a 8.0-megapixel snapper on the front.

According to the TENNA entry, the new Xiaomi E4 will be made available in three variants (all having LTE capabilities).

Sources say that they are headed to top Chinese network carriers- China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom and the asking price is expected to start from ¥1799 (approximately $290/€270/₹18,000).

Will Xiaomi E4 come to India?

If history is any indication, Xiaomi is most likely to introduce the E4 in India sooner or later, so that the company has a large portfolio of devices in every budget segment to offer choices to Indian consumers.
