This year in fact belonged to Mammootty. The legendary actor had the maximum release of seven films including "Balyakalasakhi", "Praise the Lord", "Gangster", "Manglish", "Munnariyippu", "Rajadhi Raja" and "Varsham". Though the initial releases failed to make a mark in the box office, the later ones became the biggest hits of the year including "Munnariyippu", "Rajadhi Raja" and "Varsham". The actor was also appreciated much for his versatile performances in films like "Balyakalasakhi", "Munnariyippu" and "Varsham".

Nivin Pauly can be called the most successful actor of the year. The actor had total of four releases this year and all four managed to be big hits in the box office.

His character Rameshan from "1983", Giri from "Ohm Shanthi Oshana", Krishnan from "Bangalore Days" and Lokhesh from "Vikramadithyan" became highly noticeable and made him the favourite lead actor of the year. Nivin is also awaiting release of "Mili" by the end of December.

Like his father, Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaam too had some of the best movies of his career this year. The young star had total of five releases included "Salalah Mobiles", "Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram", "Banagalore Days", "Vikramadithyan" and "Njan".

The first two films went unnoticed where as the other three movies marked Dulquer as one of the most reliable actors in the industry. The directors of these films managed to explore the adaptability and acting capability of Dulquer.

Yet another young star of the industry, who had some major releases. Fahadh had total of five releases this year which includes "1 By Two", "God's Own Country", "Bangalore Days", "Money Ratnam" and "Iyobinte Pusthakam".

Though not all the movies made a huge mark in the box office, this year went quite eventful for the actor, as the multi-starrer "Bangalore Days" and the periodic film "Iyobinte Pusthakam" became the biggest hits of the years. His role of Shivadas in "Bangalore Days" and Aloshy in "Iyobinte Pusthakam" became the two most noticeable characters of the year.

Asi Ali also became another young actor who had maximum releases this year. The actor had total of seven releases and almost all of them showed his credibilty as an actor. He gave out some incredible performances in films like "Pakida", "Mosayile Kuthira Meenukal", "Hi, I'm Tony", "Apothecary", "Sapthamashree Thaskaraha", "Vellimoonga" and "Mylanchi Monchulla Veedu"

After Mammootty, Jayasurya is the another actor who has marked the maximum releases this week. The actor had releases of movies like "Happy Journery", "Apothecary", "Iyobinte Pusthakam", "Lal Bahadur Shasri", "Mathai Kuzhappakkaranalla", "Seconds" and "Aamayum Muyalum".

The actor was much appreciated for his performances as Suni Joseph in "Apothecary" and the negative character of Angoor Rawther in "Iyobinte Pusthakam".
